I might as well have a Bleach topic.
Last week, I bought the latest volume, 42. Here is the cover.
Not quite as good as the cover to volume 34, but I still love it.
Unfortunately, both volumes share the same problem: having very little of the character on the cover. In both cases, the character's main appearence is in the preceeding volume, with less appealing characters on the cover. I am also disapointed that Tite Kubo still has not provided any new Datos de Arrancar bonus pages since volume 38. The first Datos de Arrancar was flawed anyway, featuring Ulquiorra before he died so the data was incomplete. I want information on the earlier Espadas now!
Anyway, I just want to talk more about Bleach. _________________

Both those covers are awesome. Arrancar women are so hot...
As for Bleach, I think the manga had a hit a bit of a dull patch, and some of it recently has been aggravating, but I am liking this Komamura vs. Tousen fight so far, so it's looking to get better. _________________

I've not read the manga, but the anime is pretty damn awesome. _________________ Fu fu fu... |

The recent events are critical in determining what can be done in my Creatures of the Night sequel. I am writhing in suspense. _________________

Yeah, I guess some of it is pretty suspenseful. _________________

It's a shounen show. That means it's guaranteed that it won't happen. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

My gay friends and younger brother all lament how there is no romance in boys action manga authored by men. You only get romance if the author is a woman (and sometimes not even then). _________________

Young boys don't want romance. They want action, explosions, and killing.
At least that's what the writers think. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

yeah, I don't quite understand it either. I mean male aimed romance manga do well enough, as evidenced by all the romantic-comedy/harem manga out there. I don't know why there's still so much hesitance to put romance into the action stuff when the audience seems to be accepting it elsewhere.
With enough fanservice, young males can enjoy romace, I think. _________________

Eh, I don't really mind either way. I would care more if suddenly there was focus on male/male or female/remale romance, but male/female romanance I care little for. _________________

Well, that's not too likely.
It's only a niche of the target audience of works like Bleach that wants to see either of those. The best we can hope to see is some nice subtext. _________________

Yeah, I agree. The writers are writing to young boys, and most of them wouldn't appreciate those kinds of romances.
It's really too bad. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.
