I'm sure that all of us here have seen at least one anime or read a manga where the ending just didnt cut it at all and left us going "Wait what? No way that cannot possibly be the end" or "Your kidding right? Right?" Let us discus the most disapointing anime and manga endings that we have witnessed.
Trinity Blood. I never read the manga but the anime was fantastic. The art was beautiful, the story line was complex, compeling, and had just the right ammount of drama and comedy. But the ending...omg. Epic battle scene and then in the end nothing is resolved. Two of the main characters deside to continue their search for the one behind it all and end it for good. And that is the ending. WTF? So many loose ends. That really pissed me off
Story of Saiunkoku. Again beautiful art and story line, one of Geneon's best in my opinion but the ending fell short. It wasnt horrible but it was unsatisfiying. The two characters whom you hoped would finaly be together and love each other as they should have from the start instead end up being apart, but promiseing to wait for one another. Its a let down because ur like what? Why are you being so damn stuborn and putting on the break when oviously u love eatchother and are misirable with out oneanother. It just doesnt make sense.
All right ur turn. _________________ "Are there any normal people left in the world or is everyone just back from Hell?" *SPAWN* |

Hm, some disappointing endings for anime and/or manga:
Death Note for me. I mean, even before the ending, Light Yagami was making mistakes that I know he would never make. I mean yeah, his mind is pretty much unhinged by this time, but really? But in particular, the ending of the anime really pissed me off. It made Yagami look like a sissy girl whereas in the manga, at least Light had some dignity (or madness) in him. _________________

I'd have to say any anime where they cut it off without any resolution, and then after several years, there is no sequel. I mean, even if the ending is poorly made, if there is an ending, that's at least better than it just cutting off. The best example of this for me was with Tenjho Tenge. Anime was a lot of fun. Ended with almost none of the plot resolved. First series where I was so dissatisfied with the anime end that I started reading the manga.
But in the case where I haven't liked the actaul contend of the ending, there are some. Yuri romantic triangle anime, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, comes to mind. Sure, the protagonist ends up with the girl I like more, but the way it's' done is awkward and clumsy in my opinion. After an effective closing arc where the case that she should pick the other girl is very successfully made, this shoddily construed episode is just tacked on to reverse the decision. It comes across as cheap and hollow to me. _________________

Another one for me would be Burst Angel. Another great serise that I loved absolutly until the ending...Rapt is destroyed and then all of a sudden Meg shows up with a red Jango, dressed as Joe and weilding Joes guns. Yeah... that's kind of an odd ending. I'll agree there. _________________

It was frustrating as hell. I mean just to end it like that? I fail to see the logic, if there is any to be seen. _________________ "Are there any normal people left in the world or is everyone just back from Hell?" *SPAWN* |

Lets see another one for me would probebly be Boogie Pop Phantom. This serise isnt all together right from the get go. Its really distorted and weird and you have to think really hard about how all the diferent mini storys that make up the whole are connected to Boogie Pop, the Chimira, and the one hunting the both of them. The ending it really open ended and nothing is really resolved. The Chimira is dead u know that but where the hell did Boogie Pop go? Ur left guessing as to the fate of some other characters as well. Its just weird and unsatisfieing. _________________ "Are there any normal people left in the world or is everyone just back from Hell?" *SPAWN* |
