Besides Phil's choice, I would have to go with the OPs of the first half of Code Geass and the second half of Code Geass R2. After that, the first OP for Ghost in a Shell.
I almost forgot, the OP for the second season of Death Note. _________________

Heh... that was expected.
It is pretty good, although I'd also say Lilium from Elfen Lied, What's up People from Death Note, whatever the hell Neon Genesis Evangelion's is called, and Code Geass' too. It's kind of hard to pick because a lot of it sounds the same to me, so I usually skip the openings after the first listen.
Shit! I forgot Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon! Love 'em both. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

Nothing beats Motteke Sailor Fuku.
Those are pretty good choices though. I sometimes skip the openings, but sometimes I find one I rather like and I watch it every time.
K-On!'s opening is a recent hilight to me. I'll also say the opening for Cowboy Bebop was pretty special, even if it was msotly instrumental. Black Lagoon's Engrish opening has a lot of charm even if it can't hope to sound as cool as was likely intended. I also did rather like most al lthe openings used for Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei; those have character.
SOme of them are pretty samey though. _________________

Right, because Phil is so damn obsessed with it, it became a war at one point.
With the exception of 'What's Up, People!' and 'Inner Universe' from Ghost In A Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the OPs I chose do kind of sound the same, considering that the OPs I chose from Code Geass are from the same band.
Now that I think of it, 'Bravin Bad Brew' from Venus vs. Virus is also a good OP. _________________

Yeah, about the same for me. Every once and a while I find one that's catchy enough to get me to listen to it every time.
I seem to remember to liking K-On's opening as well.
I loved What's Up People not just because it's metal, but because it's extremely different from the normal anime opening. I probably wouldn't have finished the show if it wasn't for the awesome opening I kept wanting to return to.
I'll have to go listen to Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

K-On! opening is awesome.
Sometimes I watch the opening every time because the opening animation is awesome or unusual. That might have been part of the deal with Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (a wonderfully eclectic and hilarious comedy, if you haven't seen it), but I thin kthe op songs are pretty good too.
And I actually liked Wha'ts Up People to. It was different and engaging for it. Better than most fo the samey opening songs out there. _________________

This really should be discussed in Anime. But the best opening of all time is "Dame Dame no Uta". _________________

heh. didn't recognize it by name, but looked it up. Good choice.
As for the location, I suppose this could be a new topic.
Think I should split this into an anime OP topic? _________________

Sure, why not. Put it in the anime and manga thread as well. _________________

What about Azumanga Daioh? My opinion is that it's way too ridiculously catchy for it's own good.
Heh heh, I actually do know what "Dame Dame no Uta" is. It's funny as hell. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.
