ダークレベリオン〜インフォメーション

Dark Rebellion—Information

Story

Among the World of Darkness' superpowers, the tyrannical Empire of Greater Remuran is one of the most feared. Her hunger leads her to annex smaller nations rapidly, and her leaders, the immortal Ten Exquisite Sovereigns, are ruthless and powerful on a level most people can never imagine. However, Remuran has made many enemies over time, and the hostility she has created lead to a great rebellion, the Gyourunkai.

In the lightless, crime-ridden depths of Boumindou, Remuran's capital city, Gyourunkai is gathering like-minded warriors, be they fighters hungry for justice, amoral mercenaries, or thrill-seekers. This rag-tag bunch is fighting against incredible odds, but the price for freedom is well worth it.

Race

There are countless An'uuto races in the World of Darkness, so a limited number will be avalible to play.

Hantomu (漢唐 [ハントム] Hantomu): An'uuto identical to humans, except for sharp canine teeth, pointed ears, a wider variety of hair colors, and a wider variety of eye colors.

Ryukubi (緑夕 [リュクビ] Ryukubi): Ryukubi have a very human appearance, like the Hantomu. However, their ears sweep back instead of pointing at an upward angle like most other Degakuni, their eyes are always bright green with a series of three concentric circles appearing within the pupil, and sea-green trianglular markings pointing downward on the cheeks.

Yasha (夜叉 [ヤシャ] Yasha): Powerfully muscled and broad-shouldered An'uuto. Their fingers are tipped with savage claws that look like iron and their skins tends to come in shades of brown. Yasha have white hair to contrast with their dark skin. Yasha eyes turn bright-red when enraged, giving an intense look to them. They are known to make fierce soldiers, but they have a rich history of poetry and story-telling, and today many of the World of Darkness' favorite actors are Yasha.

Karoura (迦楼羅 [カロウラ] Karoura): Karoura are a light brown-skinned An'uuto race with colorful bird-like wings growing from their shoulders. Their hands and feet are clawed, and are capable of grasping objects with their feet as well as with their hands.

Kuon'uuto (光物 [クオンウウト] Kuon'uuto): Kuon'uuto are tall, fair-skinned, and fair-haired An'uuto. Their eyes are usually blue, green, or gray. Broad wings with pure-white feathers grow from the shoulders. Kuon'uuto are a race that not only tolerates sunlight but embrace it and thrive in it.

Pidaku (裨特 [ピダク] Pidaku): An'uuto that possess lithe, muscular bodies with a natural grace and speed. Their ears and tails are like those of a cat, and their hands and feet have thick paw pads. Thin, curved claws grow from the fingers and toes. They have split pupils. Pidaku have a tendancy to clentch their fingers into fists when not in use, making their hands look even more like cat paws.

Houjou (狐精 [ホウジョウ] Houjou): An'uuto that resemble anthropomorphic foxes. They still possess the fangs of an An'uuto.

What is an An'uuto?

An'uuto (暗物 [アンウウト] An'uuto) are the natural inhabitants of the World of Darkness. All An'uuto have fangs (at the least sharpened canine teeth for puncturing skin). The vast majority of An'uuto experience a strong sensitivity to direct natural sunlight and cannot endure it for even short periods of time, although some races are naturally accustomed to sunlight. The average lifespan for a healthy An'uuto is 1,000 years, although some live much longer than that. All An'uuto need to consume meat and blood to remain healthy, although some need more than others. Without eatting meat, an An'uuto will sicken and die. Without drinking blood an An'uuto's brain suffers degeneration, falling into an irreversable madness and later death if the maddened An'uuto cannot find blood to consume. An'uuto, on average, need to eat some meat every few weeks and need to drink blood every few days. Many An'uuto are capable of using supernormal abilities through various means. Through a special process, An'uuto can turn non-An'uuto into An'uuto.

Remuran

Remuran realm (影蘭圏 [レムランけん] Remuranken) is the heart of the Empire of Greater Remuran. Remuran is an unusual realm in that it experiences a full day-night cycle, albeit the daylight is weak and often obscured by clouds. The sunlight causes shadows to be cast, giving Remuran its name. Remuran is divided into eleven separate states.

History

Billions of years ago, the Remuranian Kingdom (影蘭王国 [レムランおうこく] Remuran Oukoku) flourished. It consisted of the Sairemu (西影 [セイレム] Seiremu), the Touremu (東影 [トウレム] Touremu), the Beiremu (北影 [ベイレム] Beiremu), and the Nanremu (南影 [ナンレム] Nanremu). These races had a very advanced civilization for their age, and were among the first to leave their realm and explore, although not particularly far. Their mighty rulers were known as “Exquisite Sovereigns” (妙王 [みょうおう] Myouou). The Remuranian Kingdom came an end in a mysterious cataclysm of murky detail, destroying many of their cities overnight. A few surviving records indicate that a creature of vast size awoke beneath the earth and destroyed everything around it before going back to sleep. It is uncertain if the story is literal truth or metaphorical for the disaster.

The Remuranian Kingdom went into decline, its people reforming into scattered independent little nations. Scientific progress halted completely, as the people came to think they had been punished for their civilization. Outside of Remuran, other realms learned of the mysterious place and were frightened by the light of Remuran’s sun. They came to regard Remuran as a cursed place, and it became a common punishment to banish criminals there. Some other people would voluntarily leave to Remuran, wanting to escape from their home realms for a hermit existence. These criminals and hermits mingled with the native Remuranians and began building new societies. These societies often warred with one another, but no one was able to control all of Remuran. That is, until a woman calling herself Rireishi (慄麗撕 [リレイシ] Rireishi) appeared. Her power was so vast and terrible she subjugated all of the societies in a matter of months. As the new queen of Remuran, Rireishi started rebuilding the Remuranian Kingdom, this time more advanced that before. The diverse number of races now inhabiting Remuran made a unique new civilization.

With the Remuranian Kingdom restored, Rireishi turned her attention outside of the realm. She traveled quietly across the realms, looking for individuals who were stronger than any in Remuran itself, or at least showed the potential. She gathered ten followers, nine warriors and one priestess. They began a mission of conquest, taking over the lands closest to Remuran. Because of Remuran’s isolation, few people knew who this formidable new force was.

It turned out Rireishi still had more followers to gather. She turned to the World of Light, and her trickery caused a civil war to brake out, preventing one of the strongest empires in the World of Darkness to stand against Remuran. Billions of people flocked to Rireishi from all over the World of Darkness, convinced she was a goddess and was certain to rule all realms. In the end, the World of Light was crippled by her in-fighting, and Rireishi gained her most powerful warriors yet from the ranks of the Kuon’uuto defecting from the World of Light, including the last of her personal followers. Rireishi then renamed the new Remuranian Kingdom “the Empire of Greater Remuran”, and dubbed her ten warriors “the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns” (十大妙王 [じゅうだいみょうおう] Juudaimyouou), and her priestess was dubbed “the Dream Master” (夢達人 [むたつじん] Mutatsujin). The tenth of the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns, the most powerful of them all, would govern the Empire of Greater Remuran for Rireishi, while the Dream Master encouraged worship of Rireishi.

Rireishi might have gone on to conquer much more had she not been defeated at last by an unnamed woman in golden armor. The Golden Woman (金色の女 [こんじきのおんな] Konjiki no On’na) successfully defeated Rireishi somehow, but both women vanished after that. The Ten Exquisite Sovereigns retreated to Remuran and took command. The tenth of the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns, the most powerful of them all, declared himself emperor of Remuran, while the Dream Master encouraged worship of the now deified Rireishi. The Ten Exquisite Sovereigns and the Dream Master each took a state of Remuran and ruled over it, jointly controlling the Empire of Greater Remuran as a federal monarchy. Remuran is now one of the most powerful realms in the World of Darkness, and their influence spreads by the day.

Geography

Remuran is an extremely diverse realm, containing forests, deserts, oceans, mountains, plains, wetlands, volcanoes, tundra, and just about every other possible geographical feature. Remuran is divided into eleven different states, each one ruled by one of the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns and the Dream Master. The climate is somewhat warmer than other realms, but colder in other parts.

Culture

The multicultural nature of Remuran has given it a wide variety of heritages. An over-all pressure to excel and get ahead, to be a winner, drives Remuranians and created an impression that they are a very ruthless people. The government maintains that this is simply a superior work ethic, but they have been criticized as forming a culture where personal ambition and serving the state are the most important values. This attitude is summed up in the imperial exams (科挙 [かきょ] kakyo), where it is determined if a citizen will be elevated to first-class (超人 [ちょうじん] choujin) or remain second-class (劣等人 [れっとうじん] rettoujin). The imperial exams are notoriously difficult, and those who fail or never take them have fewer rights than those who pass, and are even considered to be worth less than a first-class citizen. Only first-class citizens are allowed to vote, enter the bureaucracy, hold managerial positions, own a business, and generally take anything other than the most basic of jobs. The imperial exams are widely criticized by people outside Remuran.

Despite the harshness of the first-class/second-class divide, Remuran is highly lenient in other regards. Sam-sex marriage is permitted and the attitude toward sex is generally quite permissive. High degrees of sex, violence, and other elements are depicted regularly in media.

Remuran has a large motion picture, literature, and electronic game industry, competing with Inbon, Yuebun, Hatsurai, and the Union.

Culture varies between the individual eleven states, influenced by the local populations and the ruler of that state.

Worship of Rireishi is the state religion, coupled with indigenous religions and philosophies of the pre-Rireishi peoples. Religious matters are handled by the Dream Master and her church.

Economy

Remuran is a capitalist mixed economy. She is a leading exporter of vehicles, agriculture, heavy machinery, raw materials, and computers. She is a major importer of other raw materials.

The Remuranian unit of currency is the futo (弗 [フト] futo).

Government

Remuran is an oligarchic federal monarchy. Only an elite minority is able to influence politics on any level, and the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns rule their own states with the Tenth Exquisite Sovereign acting as emperor of the Empire of Greater Remuran. Colonies and conquered territories are jointly ruled by the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns.

Hyuuzau

Hyuuzau (暁州 [ヒュウザウ] Hyuuzau) is a state in Remuran realm. It is ruled by Tenth Exquisite Sovereign Emperor Rubihatsu. The capital city of Hyuuzau is Boumindou.

Hyuuzau is known for its blood-red sky, as though at sunrise or sunset at all times during the day. Powerful devices are in place to keep even this light from being harmful to the local population. Hyuuzau is a land of rolling hills, lovely forests, gentle beaches, and huge cities. It is the largest of the states of Remuran and has the highest population. The state appears to be in a perpetual autumn, the plants all red and gold in color. Breezes constantly blow through the countryside.

Cities stretch tall and deep like most citizes in Remuran, extending deep beneath the surface where great machinery and the second-class citizens toil. The rich first-class citizens live and work in the tallest towers.

Boumindou

Boumindou (薄明都 [ボウミンドウ] Boumindou) is the state capital, and the the nerve center of the Empire of Greater Remuran. The city is enormous, one of the largest in the World of Darkness. The upper surface is a pleasant scene, with graceful towers, public parks, zoos, amusement parks, museums, and the colossal Imperial Palace. At night, Boumindou is illuminated by endless advertisements inticing people to try new wares. Kuon'uuto and other winged An'uuto can commonly be seening flying through the sky. Others make do with flying vehicles.

Beneath the surface, extending more than a kilometer into the ground, are the lower levels of Boumindou. Devoid of natural light, the lower levels grow progressively seedier and more lawless. Crime breeds in the lower levels dispite the diligant efforts of the police. The lower levels are a good hiding place for anti-Remuranian rebels. However, the Ten Exquisite Sovereigns and their intelligence programs enjoy listening to the rumors and talk that the lower level people whisper, so even the lower levels are not a perfect hiding place.

Boumindou is divided into ten levels.

Level 1

Level 1 (層一 [そういち] Souichi) is the part of Boumindou most people think of when the city is mentioned. It is a place of tall buildings, old museums, public parks, busy streets, and glorious statues. The upper and upper-middle class people live and work here. It is almost exclusive to be a first-class citizen to live on Level 1.

Points of interest

Imperial Palace (皇宮 [こうぐう] Kouguu) is the colossal home of Emperor Rubihatsu, his family, and his staff. Practically a city undo itself, the Imperial Palace is a blood-red and gold-trimmed place of large, gabled hipped roofs, columns, and beams. Imperial Palace is closed to the public and only an elite group is allowed to live on the grounds close to Rubihatsu.

Level 2

Level 2 (層二 [そうに] Souni) is not as prestigious as Level 1, but it is fair. The middle class mostly live here. Not a bad place to be.

Level 3

Level 3 (層三 [そうさん] Sousan) is an industerial area, home to factories, fisheries, and other such places. Hardly anyone lives here; instead workers from Level 4 or lower make their way up here to do their jobs.

Level 4

Level 4 (層四 [そうし] Soushi) is home to the working class. Level 4 is considerably poorer than Level 2, but still comfortable enough to not suffer.

Level 5

Level 5 (層五 [そうご] Sougo) is a seedy area of red light districts and criminal-owned businesses.

Points of interest

Chiten (七天 [チテン] Chiten) is a pub that serves relatively good food and drink. It is staffed by a number of sexy waitresses, and the owner is known for her beauty. Chiten is actually a place where Gyourunkai members meet since the owner is sympathetic to their cause and helps out however she can.

Level 6

Level 6 (層六 [そうろく] Souroku) is where the slums that dominate the rest of the levels begin. Millions of people are forced to live in the slums, a majority of which never getting to see the sky once in their lives. Crime breeds in Level 6, and a few pockets of Gyourunkai make their existance here to hide from the stronger police forces of the upper levels.

Gyourunkai

Gyourunkai (強龍会 [ギョウルンカイ] Gyourunkai is the largest anti-Remuran resistance group. It is strongest in Remuran's colonies and conquored territories. Within Remuran herself Gyourunkai is much weaker, attracting mostly the disgruntled slum-dwellers, frusterated aristocrats and business owners, pro-democracy intellectuals, communist revolutionaries, mercenaries, bored kids looking to rebel against something, and people who just think that Remuran is doing wrong.

Weapon and Vehicle

Bipedal Armored Fighting Vehicle

Bipedal Armored Fighting Vehicles (二足装甲戦闘車両 [にそくそうこうせんとうしゃりょう] Nisoku Soukou Sentou Sharyou, popularly known as Chourin (重輪 [チョウリン] Chourin, are two-legged machines that carry large cannons and other weapons. Some mimic a humanoid design complete with hands, while others are cannons supported by legs. In most cases one or more pilots are needed to operate a Chourin. Chourin are considered important because less personal are needed to operate one than most other A.F.V.'s.

Incomplete. More information forthcoming.

So, you suggest I think of a new character, or just use Minwan?

Just use Minwan if you like; I forgot to put the Ryukubi in the races like I originally was going to.

Well, then here is Minwan's profile, copied here for all to see:

Name: Minwan Hyuumou
Sex: f
Age: 263
Eyes: bright green
Hair: dark black in color. about shoulder length, kind of spiky, with spiky bangs in the front.
Height: 165 cm.
Weight: 43 kg.
Race: Ryukubi
Favorite foods: cakes and other sweet things, most fried foods, spicy foods, alcohol
Least favorite foods: anything with a more subtle or restrained flavor
Likes: time alone, girls, eating, good fights
Dislikes: loud noises, making choices, Remuran
Hobbies: weapon collecting, gambling
Occupation: wanderer, ex-soldier
Appearance: She has fair skin and a generally sort of jaded, aloof sort of look to her. She has a fairly sexy body, thin, athletic with medium-large breasts, and long, somewhat muscular legs. Dresses in a lightly armored, dark cloak, with a heavy sword on her back.
Personality: She's on first appearance a fairly quiet type who sticks to herself. Beyond that, she's cynical and a little smug. She caries a general feeling of apathy when she's not around something or someone she likes. When she is, she's a little more sociable, but is still a little cool and reserved (unless she's drunk, in which case her character falls apart in embarrassing ways). She's very competitive, has a strong spirit. Is very shy when it comes to expressing romantic feelings, and fairly indecisive.
History: Her father is someone of importance in the Gyourunkai. She trained to become a soldier for the rebellion, eventually becoming a warrior of some note, for both her skill with the sword and an above average magical aptitude. She bears a strong grudge against Remuran that was only exasperated after her mother, a non combatant, was killed in an attack on the Gyourunkai. After that, she was not content to continue holding up the fight as she was. Instead, she left on a journey around the world to better herself. She has pledged not to return to the Gyourunkai and the anti-Remuran cause until she has acquired a strength rivaling that of one of the Exquisite Sovereigns.

Thank you. Maybe I will replace Hantomu with Ryukubi as a playable race.

Oh, I didn't see the race was limited.

I kind of wouldn't feel right about changing Minwan's race just for this though.

Right; that is why I intended to put Ryukubi as one of the races but then I forgot to include them. I expected you to use Minwan for this.

Here's mine.

Name: Rinrin
Race: Pidaku
Age: 141.
Height: 143 cm.
Weight: 20 lkgs.
Hair: Red and flows down in a bowl-shape style down to his neck. Under certain conditions, his hair would become wild and spiky.
Eyes: Spring Green.
Occupation: Rebel.
Hobbies: Unknown.
Favorite Food: Milk, most meats, mos fruits and vegetables.
Least Favorite Food: Artificial food.
Likes: Playing, pretty girls, scouting, stomach-rubs.
Dislikes: Remuran, drugs.
Appearance: Rinrin is a cute adolescent boy. His body is surprisingly slender with skinny arms and legs. A pair of cat ears grow from his head and cat tail from his backside. His hands and feet are have thick paw pads, with curved claws growing from underneath his fingers and toes. The fir on his body is red.
Personality: Rinrin is a somewhat shy kid of few words, but he does tend to be curious and interested. He has a masochistic side of himself, taking in a hidden pleasure of pain and being dominated. What most don’t realized is that he hides a split personality inside, opposite of his current self. This other personality is loud, sadistic, and a pleasure seeker. These two personalities often have inner conversations, sometimes even fighting each other for control of his body.

Sounds cool enough, let me try to complete my profile (without my netbook being a complete arsehole):

Name: Ginfuu Sunmuku
Race: Yasha
Age: 752
Height: 174 cm.
Weight: 89 kg.
Hair: dyed black in protest to the Rumeran Empire
Eyes: purplish-blue
Occupation: ex-Rumeran soldier, now a freedom fighter
Favorite food: most meats, most vegatables and fruits
Least favorite food: milk and any dairy products (lactose intolerant) and artificial foods
Likes: honor, fighting, weapons
Dislikes: Lumeran, dishonorable actions

Appearance: dark brown skinned with brown fur covering his arms and legs. His legs and arms are powerfully built, and his chest well-chisele; however, he is usually seen with his armor on, never to take it off. That's because there's a huge scar in a previous battle in which he labels as 'dishonorable' and does not want his comrades to see that. His weapons include a naginata, kusarigama, and a double-bladed axe.

Personality: An old soldier who fights with honor, he turned his back on his country when he found out of what unspeakable horrors the Greater Rumeran empire has been doing to its enemies and its own citizens. He is calm and easy to talk to, but during battle, he goes in a berserker rage, and is said to kill legions of An'uutos single-handedly. For the most part, he's just a father figure to his subordinates and will do anything to keep them safe.

History: A Remuran soldier for 3 centuries, he had been quiet over Remuran's abusive treatment towards minorities and its POWs. When another Rumeran soldier insulted his now-dead sister, he and the soldier fought (that's where he got the scar from) until Rumeran Royal Guards managed to break up the two. Due to the other soldier's seniority, Ginfuu was blamed and reprimanded, stripping him of his Commander rank. He finally reached his breaking point and attacked some of the Rumeran Royal Guards before escaping with his armor. He went underground for another half-century before joining the Gyourunkai. His current goal now is nothing more than the destruction of Rumeran and for the death of the soldier who dishonored his beloved sister.

Not bad. I think you mean Remuran instead of Lumeran though.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the name. Rabukurafuto named my character for me when I came up wit her. I think there might be some sort of special naming scheme.

Yeah, I thought so. I'm definitely going to need Ra's help with naming since I'm not familiar how to do Japanese names.

Right, I was going to make a bit on writing An'uuto names since it is a language I made up. Phil already had a name given to Minwan by me and Rahkshi has figured out enough of the language to make his own names.

With enough work, I might be able to come up with a way that Takeo Matsume works in Emu since the language uses Japanese sounds exclusively.
