Since I finally have this game, I guess it needs a discussion thread.

Awesome. Best current generation console game I've played so far.

Your impressions so far?

It's a pretty awesome game. Not the best ever, but really good.

I really like the strategy system even though I still kind of suck with it.

I didn't say best ever, just best on a current console.

And you'll get better. I wasn't all that great at it at first myself

Well, I don't think it's the best console game either. It's just a really innovative RPG strategy game.

I'm on chapter 6 right now, the desert battle. So far, I've only had one soldier die under my command.

Best current console game. There were a lot of better console games on older consoles.

And yes, I remember the desert battle. That's a fun chapter.

I went the whole game without letting anyone actually die. It was grounds to reset regardless of how far I was into things.

Ok, but I still think there are some better games out right now.

And I did feel pretty bad about the girl dying, but I wasn't going to restart a whole battle just because of that. I don't think I could have done anything to prevent it.

Okay, maybe I just haven't been playing the right games, cause it's not even all that close for me (or... well, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is prety close)

You not only let somoene die, but it was a female character?! Wow, I definitely wouldn't have let that pass. Which one was it?

I'm can't remember her name, but she was a scout, had long blonde hair, seemed to be a country-loving girl, and I think she was a pacifist.

Is there a list of people who died under your command or a way to find out?

Susie Evans? Girl on the left in this pic?

If so, she's far from one of my favorites (other two in the pic, Edy and Marina are far more precious).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was her. She got shot and then ran over by a tank in chapter 5.

Not sure if I recognize the other two.

Didn't see your other post. I'm not actually sure there's anyway to see a list of casualties (again, I never had any...). I seem to recall it listing them all out at the very end, but that doesn't help much.

Yeah, Susie would barely be worth a reset. She's cute, but not my type at all. My sister hated her and actually willingly killed her off when she played, to obtain the medal you get for having a character killed...

And that really sucks that you didn't start with Marina and Edy unlocked. It's random who you get at first, but those two are awesome (Marina is just better than every other Sniper).

The only girl I actively protect is Alicia. I don't know what it is about her, but I go out of my way to make sure she doesn't get killed or shot down.

Is there a certain class I should be trying to level up or should I just level them all up equally.?

It really, really doesn't make sense to protect Alicia. Being the heroine, she will not die, even if she dies. There's really no penalty to it aside from losing her for the rest of the battle.

I say the classes are all important, and should all be leveled up. Shocktroopers are probably the most important though. Lancers are also usually a requirement in most battles and are thus important. You don't ever really need Snipers, but they make some battles a lot easier and are, in my opinion, fun to use.
