Yeah, definitely not cool if I get stung.
Well, looks like I managed to creep you guys out with a giant version of an underwater wood louse. _________________

I see Ra is interested. It says that there are some found near the coasts of Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and some are even found in the Great Lakes near the U.S.-Canada border. You also might want to be careful if its alive as well, they are mostly scavengers but they like meat so don't let it chew your arm off or something. _________________

That is BIG! Well most bugs I don't have a problem with... but the ones I do are generally very tiny ones that gather and move about together in large numbers, like ants, gnats, and maggots. Oh God, maggots! The sight of them makes my body incredibly itchy, it makes me wanna go in the shower and scrub myself. I am not joking here. |

Come to think of it, I probably wouldn't be as freaked out by the giant bug in person. It's more little bugs that do it. _________________

Their specs are that they can grow up to 76 cm. (30 in.) and weigh 1.7 kg (3.7 lb.) on average. Generally, the rarer they are in an area, the bigger they are due to lack of competition from others of their species, so it's possible for them to reach 3 to 6 feet and weigh over 22-40 lbs. (not sure in kg.). It's a delicacy in Asia, their meat is generally like a crab's. I think they serve it like how Americans serve lobster.
And sorry to hear about the maggots, Rahkshi. Yeah, those things creep me out too. Whenever I see one, I get something to squish or stab it to death. _________________

Years ago, I was out in a forest, and I stumbled upon a broken bird egg in the dirt, maggots eating to yoke. It was the first time I saw maggots. _________________

yeah, I'm becoming less and less creeped out by the thing the more I hear.
I do love lobster and crab.
Thing is probably tasty. _________________

Me too, I wonder how it would taste like.
Probably not suitable as a pet because I'd rather it become my food than the other way around, but it's definitely fascinating. There are currently 9 'discovered' species, scientists think there are more, but some live really deep (generally where anglers live). _________________

I hope more than the legs are edible. I ate lobster legs once and could barely get any meat out of them. _________________

Yeah. When I have lobster I usually don't even bother with the legs. More trouble than it's worth. There's enough meat in the body and claws. _________________

Most of the meat is in the body and head. And it's very easy to cut up when put upside down. Their frontal armor is easy to remove after being boiled. Like I said, there are some in the Great Lakes region, but they are only a few there that are suitable for eating, most of the ones caught are usually studies and put in public aquariums for tourists and locals to look at. _________________
