Buying the series would be best of all though.

I don't download. I stream and if I like it, I buy it.

I think I may have told you this before, but I delete anime immediately after watching it. I haven't had Code Geass on my computer for a very long time now.

Then I'll download. Thanks anyway dude!

And I prefer fansubs. They tend to do a nicer job in my opinion.

Also I don't like buying what I can get for free.

That sort of attitude hurts the anime industry.

Even if I mostly do fansubs these days, because I'm impatient for the new stuff, I at least like to buy the important things. Like Lucky Star.

And I disagree that the fansubs are nicer. There's a huge variance in the quality of fansubs. Some may leave more Japanese words in (which I dont' see as a good thing) but, there are also some that are just abysmal. I've never seen an official sub that was anything less than accetable.

I've bought my fare share of anime, and after seeing what the best fansubs can do for free, I begin to wonder what makes the payed translators seem to not like it as much.

And as far as I'm concerned, the closer it is to the Japanese, the better.

Eh, I guess that's jsut where we'll always disagree then.

I liked my Lucky Star dub and I'm proud of that.

I've never been a big fan of dubs. Some are good, but I prefer Japanese with subs.

Another thing is getting it quickly. I cannot be bothered to wait for a DVD release when I could download.

From my point of view, buying the DVD is waiting a needless amount of time to spend what I think is too much money on something mediocre quality that I could have gotten, better quality, for free a hell of a lot earlier.

I guess it's just me who likes supporting the industry, at least marginally.

And I often prefer dubs. Most of them are pretty quality these days.

I guess the biggest reason I like the Japanese versions is because I can't tell if the acting is bad or not. Very Happy

A valid point, but the Japanese voice casts are not infallible. I think the dub counterparts can and do perform roles better on occasion.

I absolutely loved the Black Lagoon eng dub.

It was a lot better than the other version.

Agreed entirely. That's a great example. One I cite often.

I guess I'm just racist towards westerners.

Hey, I loved that in Eden of the East, and Canaan, The Japanese characters spoke Japanese, The Chinese Characters spoke Cantonese or Mandarin and the English and American characters spoke English.

I guess I go for realism and authenticity.
