Yes, it's very stupid.

It also has some of the most intense special effects I've ever seen. Almost everyone in the world gets killed before the end.

I didn't think it was very good. It was basically disaster movie 101.

The special effects were awesome though and they made the action scenes pretty intense. Completely ludicrous, but intense. The movie was way too long and I thought it started to get boring towards the end, even with all the stuff that was happening.

Some of the performances weren't bad, but all characters were basically disaster movie cliches.

Well, the same director did Independence Day, which I thought was one the worst movies ever made.

Well, I liked Independence Day back when I was like 9 or whatever. Haven't seen it since then though.

That guy seems to specialize in directing crap though.

I prefer having a good story, intelligent script, and memorable characters to having amazing special effects. Special effects should help tell the story, not be the story.

Like the new Star Wars movies. George Lucas forgot to tell an interesting story because he was so wrapped up in what his computers could do.
