I know I always said that when I finally got into seriously playing visual novels, it would be my love for Saber and Fate/Stay Night that pushed m there.

I lied.

Earlier this week I decided to check one of my favorite yuri scanslation sites, http://www.solelo.com/blog/ and saw a post that read "Aoishiro PC Visual Novel Translation Complete!" and linked to this enticing page: http://www.solelo.com/aoishiro/pc/ (well the linked character page was the enticing part) where I could download the English patch. The power of yuri compelled me where Saber's hotness had always narrowly failed and I ended up scouring the internet to find the game.

Finally I found this post: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95183&page=4

And despite the fact that it was 11 huge files and I had to delete a ton of porn to make room for it not even knowing it would work right, I downloaded it, unpacked it, powered up my VMware Fusion, put it in the right directory, made the path readable, put the patch files in their correct place and finally started up.

I'm on my second playthrough now, and I'm enjoying myself.

In the game you play as this semi-tsundere hot kendo chick named Syouko:

In my first playthrough, I went after this really hot spunky cool chick named Migiwa:

Now I'm forced to endure going after the generic frail, kind, main character's school friend who would likely be the one chosen if it was adapted to an anime. I'm less than thrilled about her. Not my type at all:

Maybe I'll warm up to her though.

After that I can try for the ultra sexy adult badass fighter chick (would have been my first choice were there not seals on her path), the loli and the strange androgynous monster girl.

Anyway, it's amusing me. Sure it isn't eroge, so there's no hot yuri sex. Sure, it isn't all girl's kissing either and an effort is made to convey this plot about demons and a powerful sword and a bunch of other stuff (the story isn't that bad really, even if it drags in parts; I'm thankful for the skip function on my second playthough though), but all in all, it's been a good way to kill some time.

Maybe when I'm done I will move onto Saber finally...

Wait, you don't have a memory stick at all, or you just don't have one that can hold 7.78 GB? In the latter case, you could just transfer each of the 500 MB files over one by one or something.

Yeah. It'd likely take forever. Just downloading the files took well over an hour for me. Getting it to work killed almost another.

I'd have to download, then transfer each folder individually to my laptop, before unzipping it there and trying to make it work without any prior experience.

I have no idea about computers, so I'd likely break it. Not to mention the PC I'm on only has half a gig of RAM.

It only connects through school systems. Schools don't really approve of lesbian romance games, I'd wager.

Well, after a couple weeks of playing it off and on, I am now. I have completed each of the stories. As my first true Visual Novel experience it was kind of fun.

The story was quite interesting actually. I sort of became involved in it as I was playing though each path. It was strange that they were still finding ways to surprise me even on some of my last play throughs. I would have preferred more yuri in the game. I mean, its definitely a yuri game and all, but it would have been better if there was more kissing. The above pictured kiss with Migwa, as it turns out is more an exception than a standard. For most of the girls the romantic tension culminated in eroticized blood drinking.

For sexy Kaya here it was both:

Most of the time you just got something like this though:

But Kohaku here was most direct with it:

Nami the loli was cute:

Then on the play through for the true ending, this happened:

That made me happy. Overall not a bad way to kill some time. Pleased with the experience, I think I'm going to download a more mainstream Visual Novel now.
