Meh, I honestly think they're a little overrated. Still awesome, but a little overrated. _________________

I wish people would know more about them than Stairway to Heaven, which has got to be the most over-listened to song ever. I don't think they're overrated though as I personally don't know a single album of theirs that I don't like. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? I will agree with Phil and say that there were a great many good rock bands too many in my opinion to say who was best over all. Zepplin was great but Supper Tramp was also pretty good....I could go on and on lol. I will say though when it comes to guitar players Jimmy Page is up there with the best for sure _________________ "Are there any normal people left in the world or is everyone just back from Hell?" *SPAWN* |

But you have to admit that Stairway to Heaven is a pretty kickass song.
I don't know it their albums are as solid as some of the other greats. I mean, they all have moments of absolute brilliance, but some of the songs on each are decidedly less brilliant. _________________

Stairway to Heaven does kick ass, but it's still overexposed in my opinion. I mean, I'm pretty sure I've heard the song over 100 times, about half of the time unintentionally. They have a lot of better songs than that one anyway.
Yeah, that's the way with most if not all bands. Not every song can be a masterpiece, but I also don't know of any other band that was quite as consistent. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

Eh, I guess you're right.
A couple of The Beatles albums might be without a weak song, and I might say the same of a few of Bob Dylan's albums, but Led Zeppelin probably did approach a pretty solid level consistently. I just for some reason, wasn't wowed by their albums as a whole first time I heard them that way. _________________

My parents got me into Led Zeppelin when I was pretty young. It was some of the first music I had listened to, so they've had a lot of time to grow on me. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

My dad, who pretty single-handedly steered my taste in music, until a few years ago when I suddenly got more into music, really doesn't like Led Zeppelin much. He doesn't hate them, but he never bought any CDs. So, until those few years ago, all I ever had heard was the singles they play on the radio.
Might be part of it. _________________

I'm the complete opposite then. My parents love classic rock, so that's mostly what I listened to when I was little, which, thankfully, kept me away from shit like the Backstreet Boys. Also, my uncle has every single album they've ever made, so I got to hear from them plenty all around.
My dad has never affected my musical tastes in the slightest. He's only into today's pop music. _________________ Wanna come over to my house and listen to Jimi Hendrix? Then we can play strip search.

Yeah, I was unfortunate to have listened to mainstream pop when I was little. Wasn't until I was 8 that I started listening to the Beatles, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and some other classical rock songs that I can't remember at this very moment thanks to the CD collection that my mother managed to get out of the attic.
Of course, mainstream music still pervaded, so i turned to songs from the video games I played. It wasn't until I was 14 that I did a complete breakaway from mainstream music. Since then, it's been mostly rock for me. _________________

No, my dad has good music tastes. He introduced me too much of the great classic stuff, he just, for whatever reason does not like Led Zeppelin too much (and he has overlooked or written off some other great artists/bands.) He hates the modern pop crap almost as much as I do.
It just wasn't until more recently that I decided to check out the bands he had written off, and subsequently discover a bunch he's never heard of. _________________

I cannot stand Stairway to Heaven. I detest that song with a passion. Give me Black Dog anyday
I try to stay as far away from mainstream music as I can get cause most of it is crap. Hanna Montana and Lady Gagga can go take a flying leap If I told them that they probebly would.
My parents were a major influence for me as previously stated but I dont like everything they listen to. Neil Young Blah! _________________ "Are there any normal people left in the world or is everyone just back from Hell?" *SPAWN* |

Lady Gaga is absolute poison in my ears; she's down there with Madonna, 50 Cent, Snoop Dog, and whatever else I can't think of at this very moment. _________________
